The Spanish government passed on Friday new measures to enhance market unity in Spain.
These new measures were announced at the press conference following the cabinet meeting.
The government said that now it would be easier for stores to open more hours in several cities pointing out that the number of cities enjoying these measures would be extended.
Municipalities should select the so-called "large tourist areas," where small and large shops can determine their opening days and times.
The government stressed that this measure would strengthen the relationship between trade and tourism in Spain, which received about 60 million international tourists in 2013 and is expected to exceed that figure in 2014.
Apart from these measures, the government adopted others to boost growth, competitiveness and efficiency.
The government will provide financial help to companies hiring young people aged between 16 and 25 during the first six months of contract, among other measures.
Spain suffers a high rate of unemployment, but the country left recession behind in the third quarter of 2013 after a long period of economic recession.
The number of people out of work in the country has been falling but there were still 4.4 million people unemployed in June according to the Ministry of Employment.
