
Police in Ky Anh district in central Vietnam's Ha Tinh province on Wednesday returned assets to Taiwan- invested Formosa Plastic Group which were stolen in anti-China riot on May 14, reported state-run news agency VNA. A total of 17 central processing units, 14 computer screens, 12 keyboards, three photocopiers, one projector, two printers, 15 welders, 5.8 tons of steel, six industrial refrigerators, 15 air conditioners, 11 motorbikes, 2 drillers were returned to the company. Thai Quoc Duong, head of security guard of the company said to VNA that "We are thankful to relevant agencies of Ha Tinh province as they are quickly resuming assets and ensuring security, public order. We expect the police to continue their investigation to collect the rest of lost assets back so that the company can resume work." Ha Tinh police said they are focusing efforts on investigating, question extremists who made use of the crowd to steal assets and will bring them to justice. Up to now, Ha Tinh police have arrested and prosecuted 24 people involved in burglary, disturbing public order and destruction of property in the violence in Formosa project. On Tuesday, Vietnamese government office issued a document in supplementing supportive measures for enterprises to overcome losses caused riots in several regions. The Formosa Plastic Group claimed three million dollars' asset loss in the riot on May 14, in which at least two Chinese were killed and more than 100 were injured.
