
The UAE officials at the State's pavilion in the Hannover Messe received a number of official delegations of participating countries in the exhibition, which expressed their interest in strengthening strategic industrial partnerships at the governmental level with UAE. Hamad Abdullah Al Mass, Executive Director of International Economic Relations at the Department of Economic Development, received the delegation of Moscow District in the Russian Federation, led by Dr. Vladimir Markin, Deputy Minister of Investment and Innovation, who hailed UAE's participation in Hannover this year which reflected the interest and keenness of the Russian government, the delegations and participating private sector companies. Dr. Vladimir Markin expressed the interest of Moscow District to strengthen its relations with the UAE industrial sector, calling on officials in Abu Dhabi to visit the District and tap the investment opportunities it offers, especially in the building and construction sector, infrastructure and waste recycling which constitutes 20% of recycled waste with a total value of $10 million. The meeting with the Russian delegation discussed the possibility of joint cooperation between the two sides in modern energy systems, such as renewable, solar, hydro and other energy technologies. Hamad Al Mass welcomed the invitation and cooperation, in view of the efforts of Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE in general, to develop this sector and the implementation of many projects. In the same context, Al Mass met with Dieter Hawler, Director-General of the Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development in the Federal Office of Foreign Affairs in Germany, where to views was exchanged on ways to strengthen economic relations between the two sides especially in industrial fields. The German official praised the UAE's participation at the Hannover Fair this year, which reflected the depth of economic relations between the two friendly countries, and its development during the past years, stressing the desire of his country to provide and transfer its expertise and capabilities in the manufacturing sector to the UAE, which is one of the most important strategic partners of Germany in the Middle East. Al Mass also met with a delegation representing the industrial zones in Saudi Arabia, and exchanged views, experiences and information on industrial zones and their role in economic growth and in increasing the contribution of the industrial sector to GDP. The meeting also discussed the role of free zones in attracting foreign investments. The Saudi delegation valued the experience of UAE in this area, and expressed interest in strengthening communication channels between the two countries in this respect. UAE officials also met with the organizers of the exhibition to discuss the UAE's participation in the next year, and means to strengthen the presence of UAE in this global event, stressing the desire of the Government of UAE to internationally promote the position of the United Arab Emirates and its industrial sector, through the establishment of strategic partnerships with the German side in this field. Hannover Messe officials highly valued the UAE's participation in Hannover Messe 2014 and previous years, underlining their interest that the UAE will remain as a strategic partner in the Fair, by expanding participation and benefitting from the promising investment opportunities offered by the exhibition, which will benefit the industrial sector in the UAE.
