
Taiwan's unemployment rate rose to 3.92 percent in June, up 0.07 percentage points from May, because of new college graduates looking for jobs, according to the island's statistics authority on Tuesday.
However, last month's unemployment rate was at its lowest compared to the same period in the last 14 years.
In June, 451,000 people were unemployed, up by 8,000 from May, the authority said.
In the first half of the year, Taiwan's jobless rate on average was 3.97 percent, down 0.17 percentage points year on year. That was the lowest rate compared to the same period in the last six years.
