In line with its objective to enhance the productivity and growth of enterprises in the private sector, Tamkeen will hold special sessions with merchants and traders based in the Old Souq area. Two sessions are planned in all; the first conducted in Arabic on Tuesday (Dec 25th), followed the next day by an English-language session on Wednesday (Dec 26th). Both sessions are scheduled to commence at 12:00 PM at the Bab Al Bahrain Mall in Manama. The meetings were arranged by Tamkeen in coordination with the Commercial Sector Committee and Old Souq Committee at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. All traders in the Old Souq area are welcome to attend. The sessions will include a full overview of Tamkeen’s enterprise support programmes, including flagship programmes such as the Enterprise Development Support Programmes and its various sub-schemes (Techania, Jawda, Tarweej, Tasweeq, and Istishara), as well as the BD210 million Enterprise Financing Scheme and Enterprise Support Fund, among others. Around 18,000 enterprises from wide range of sectors have benefited from these collective programmes to date, including SMEs, micro-enterprises, and large enterprises. Commenting on the announcement, Yousif Ali, Senior Manager – Customer Engagement and Support at Tamkeen said, “Tamkeen is committed to enabling Bahrainis and enterprises within the private sector to enhance their capabilities and increase their contribution to economic development in line with Vision 2030. We look forward to meeting with traders of the Old Souq and listening to the challenges they face, and showing them how they too can benefit from the multitude of support programmes we offer to benefit the business community in Bahrain.” Nearly 65,000 Bahrainis and enterprises have benefited from Tamkeen’s programmes to date. More than 100,000 beneficiaries are set to benefit from these programmes in all.
