Top firms hire more contract than regular workers in Seoul

The number of contract workers hired at South Korea's top 20 companies increased sharply while that of regular employees remained largely unchanged, an analysis of annual business reports showed Tuesday. According to the corporate reports released at general shareholders meetings last month, the largest companies had 12,585 contract workers as of late 2013, up 15.2 percent from 10,924 tallied a year earlier.
