Turkish Deputy Prime Minister for economy Ali Babacan said OECD countries have been watching \'with envy\' Turkey\'s progress as they spoke highly of the country\'s performance in many fields. Speaking to the Turkish press in Paris where he participated in the annual meeting of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Council of Ministers, Babacan said the OECD ministers\' meeting focused on human rights, employment and economic confidence. Reminding that in past 4 years, Turkey created 4.8 new jobs, Babacan said, \"OECD countries have watched with envy the development in Turkey as Turkey\'s performance in many fields was evaluated successful.\" The ministers in Paris met to discuss concrete solutions to restore growth with an important emphasis on “Jobs, Equality and Trust”. This includes structural reforms to boost growth and competitiveness, measures to restore trust in governments, and specific actions to tackle youth unemployment, promote gender equality, make taxation fairer, seize the benefits of global value chains, and contribute to wider global development.
