Turkish mineral exports reaches $2.9bn in 7 months

Istanbul Minerals and Metal Exporters\' Association (IMIB) said Turkey\'s mineral exports increased 27.9 percent and reached $2.9 billion in the last seven months compared to the same period of the previous year. In January-July period of 2013, China, the US, Iraq, Italy, and Belgium became the top five countries with the highest mineral exports. Turkey\'s exports to China, having an important share in Turkish mining sector, increased 56 percent and reached $1.45 billion in the last seven months compared to the same period last year. Block marble and travertine, chrome ore and copper ore became the most exported minerals to China. In the same period, natural stone exports also increased 22 percent and up to $1.26 billion. Exports of metallic minerals increased 40 percent and reached $1.74 billion in the same period. IMIB is a professional non-profit association which deals with all export activities in minerals sector.
