Sheikha Sheikha bint Saif bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, wife of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President, and the Honorary Chairman of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, has said that the UAE's number one position as the largest donor of foreign aid reflects its leading role in the humanitarian field by providing all forms of support and assistance to many people in various countries around the world.
In a statement on the occasion of World Wish Day on April 29th, Sheikha Sheikha said that the UAE is actively operating through its charitable and humanitarian institutions inside and outside the country, adding that the UAE's humanitarian role in the last few years has increased and became more prominent in most parts of the world.
She also expressed her delight at what the Make-A-Wish Foundation has provided since the opening of its branch in the country in 2003, which is realising 1,600 wishes for children, and confirmed that the foundation will continue in its mission and will double its efforts.
Sheikha Sheikha said that the foundation is revered for its role in bringing happiness to sick children, part of the foundation's path to promote the UAE's humanitarian efforts under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the support of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, through the implementation of several initiatives aimed at making the wishes of children suffering with health problems come true.
