The UAE Offset Program Bureau has been officially renamed as the Tawazun Economic Council in a move timed to celebrate the organisation’s 20th anniversary. The word “Tawazun” — which is Arabic for “balance” — was specifically included in the new name to reflect the organisation’s mandate of creating sustainable economic and social benefit for the UAE and its people. “The Tawazun Economic Council’s new name aligns the organisation with the mandate that is at the core of its being, that of helping to create an economic and social balance in the UAE,” said Saif Mohamed Al Hajeri, CEO of the council and Tawazun Holding. “Even though it has undergone a name change, the council’s goals remains the same. Our mission is to establish strong links between international contractors and our local private sector.” from khaleej times.
