US Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Ken Hyatt has arrived in Cairo leading a delegation of 11 US companies on an Infrastructure Business Development Mission to Egypt.
The mission will give companies the ability to identify business opportunities and enter or expand their presence in Egypt, said the US embassy in a press release.
In earlier statements, Hyatt said "infrastructure investment is important in the Middle East and North Africa as countries in the region strive to meet development targets, diversify their economies, and create employment opportunities for their people."
The mission delegates will participate in business and market briefings, and conduct one-on-one business appointments with pre-screened potential buyers, agents, distributors and joint venture partners.
They will also meet with government officials, chambers of commerce and business groups, as well as network with business leaders and government representatives, said the embassy statement.
