
The economic reports calendar is packed this week: -- Monday: Markit Economics posts the U.S. service index known as the purchasing managers index. New home sales data for December is released by the Census Bureau. The Dallas Federal Reserve is set to release a division-wide manufacturing report. -- Tuesday: Britain's Office of National Statistics is to release a fourth quarter gross domestic product estimate. The Census Bureau is scheduled to release durable goods data for December. Standard & Poor's releases the monthly home price index, this one covering November. The Conference Board's consumer confidence index is due. The Richmond Fed releases Fifth District (Central Atlantic) manufacturing data. -- Wednesday: The U.S. Federal Reserve's monthly monetary policy announcement is set for mid-afternoon. -- Thursday: ONS in Britain releases December's consumer credit data. The European Commission's official data agency Eurostat is scheduled to release confidence indexes covering consumers and businesses. The Commerce Department will release the first of three fourth quarter gross domestic product estimates. The National Association of Realtors is poised to release pending home sales figures from December. The weekly Labor Department report on first-time unemployment benefit claims is due. -- Friday: Eurostat is to release its consumer price index; Statistics Canada is to release its November GDP estimate. The Bureau of Economic Analysis, a part of the Commerce Department, is to release labor cost figures for the fourth quarter. Consumer spending figures for December are expected, released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The MNI Deutche Borse Group along with the Institute for Supply Management is set to release the Chicago area purchasing managers index, which covers manufacturing in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.
