
U.S. Secretary of Treasury Jacob Lew, currently visiting the Kingdom, held a meeting with businessmen and members of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During the meeting, he called for an effective partnership with the Saudi private sector, confirming the wish of the U.S. specialized companies to enter into strategic partnerships in the Saudi market and have larger contribution to the infrastructure projects in the Kingdom.
He said the U.S. is Saudi Arabia's first economic partner in the region and is always working to enhance its relations with the GCC countries, topped by the Kingdom, citing the recent statistics.
He noted great identity in the view points of the Saudi and U.S. and there is good cooperation in information exchange, confirming the close linkage between the dollar and the Riyal.
