
Vietnam is a destination with a lot of business opportunities, as remarked by Chinese investors at the recent business forum of ASEAN-China and Vietnam, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI). As of June 2013, there are 15,067 foreign direct invested (FDI) projects operating in Vietnam, with a total registered capital of 218.82 billion U.S. dollars. Of the figures, mainland China has 925 projects, worth 4.7 billion dollars, ranking 13th among 101 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. According to MPI, during the 1991-2011 period, the two-way Vietnam-China trade turnover increased sharply from 31 million U.S. dollars to 11 billion dollars. The figure is expected by both sides to rise to 60 billion dollars by 2015. As of June 2013, Vietnam has 10 projects in China, with total registered capital of 13.2 million dollars, mainly in manufacturing and services areas, reported the ministry.
