
Visiting World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General Roberto Azevêdo has lauded recent economic decisions in Egypt, saying they will have a major role in boosting the Arab country's economy.
The foreign official made the remarks during his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at the presidential palace in Heliopolis on Tuesday.
Azevêdo also hailed the development projects which carried out in Egypt, including the New Suez Canal project.
Sisi stressed during the meeting the necessity that the world trade system considered the interests of the poor and poorest countries, presidential spokesman Ihab Badawi said.
Badawi added that Sisi asserted that the WTO should boost its role in upgrading the skills of cadres of those countries at the technical level.
Sisi also stressed that there was a strong political will for reform and change to the best in Egypt, the spokesman concluded.
