Xinhua forges partnership with China Telecom

Xinhua News Agency on Monday forged a partnership with China Telecom, one of the country\'s leading mobile operators, to launch bilateral cooperation in digital reading devices, wireless data and Internet value-added services and basic telecom sectors. According to the framework agreement signed between the two parties, Xinhua and China Telecom will develop mobile news and exclusive terminals for governments and companies as well as explore new media business models. China Telecom will take advantage of its technology to provide all-in-one solutions for Xinhua. Zhou Xisheng, vice president of Xinhua, said the partnership will promote the country\'s new media development and bring economic benefits to both sides. Wang Xiaochu, board chairman of China Telecom, said the company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xinhua five years ago, and the cooperation between the two parties has registered remarkable achievements during the past few years. He said he believes that the deeper partnership with Xinhua will bring new experiences and higher-value services to the company\'s clients.
