Yemeni scholars have called on Arab, Islamic and peace-loving countries to impose a full economic boycott of Israel, end all kinds of normalization and expedite the lift of the siege clamped on Gaza Strip in particular and the Palestinian territories in general. In a statement released today the Yemeni scholars condemned “the brutal barbaric Zionist aggression” against the Palestinian brothers in Gaza in which dozens of Palestinians were martyred and hundreds mostly women, children and elderly people, were injured. They considered the aggression as a “crime against humanity” and “a flagrant violation of all divine religions and holy books, in addition to being a challenge of human rights and international charters”, demanding the Security Council and international organizations to play their role in accordance with the United Nations Charter. The Yemeni scholars called on all Muslims to carry out their duty “to stop the aggression and invasion and defend Gaza Strip and its people as a duty of every Muslim, stressing the need to “take swift action for the immediate cessation of Zionist shameful crimes against our Palestinian brothers and punish anyone who commits any act contrary to the divine laws and international norms and bring war criminals to trial. ” Concluding, the Yemeni scholars hailed what they described as “frank, clear and firm stance of Yemen which supported the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and deplored this brutal aggression.”
