The foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, Jordan and Morocco met here on Wednesday as part of preparations for a GCC summit due in December. Addressing the meeting, Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said it was necessary to continue efforts to prop up cooperation between the GCC on the one hand and Jordan and Morocco on the other hand. The outcomes of joint meetings and mutual efforts would surely contribute to the fulfillment of the "aspired goals, expectations and hopes of our people, " said the Kuwaiti minister, who chairs the current 129th session of the council of the preparatory ministerial council. He spoke highly of recent achievements in the joint action march between the GCC members, and Jordan and Morocco. He pointed to orientations aiming to achieve "strategic partnership between our countries and people" and to attain the visions and directives of the leaders for promoting cooperation and reinforcing strategic partnership and integration between the GCC, and Jordan and Morocco. On her part, Delegate Minister at the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Imbarka Buaida hailed the meeting as "another strong sign for our well-established values, commonalities and solidarity for defending our firm principles aiming to cement peace and stability and to respect the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of the states". She said today's meeting shows "our strong will and mutual determination to go ahead with steps as part of our strategic partnership and firm resolve to address all potential challenges". She pointed to senior officials' talks in Manama in November 2012 which outlined initial steps towards the roadmap of this partnership. She hoped that specialized teams would wind up their meetings in the coming period in order to complete "all structural angles for our partnership and proceeding for applying the contents the main joint plan of action and detailed blueprints that are hoped to fulfill the aspired goals of mutual partnership". The Moroccan minister stressed the significance of paving the way for opening-up, freedom of exchanges, and exerting more efforts for reasonable ideal investment in all available potential.
