Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi receives Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir
Riyadh - Arab Today

Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday, and reviewed political, economic and security relations ahead of Modi’s visit to Riyadh next month.
“Both leaders exchanged views on further strengthening bilateral ties including in the fields of trade, investment, energy and security cooperation,” said Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi.
“They also discussed the regional situation and agreed that the two countries have a shared interest in peace and stability in the region,” the PMO added in a remark issued after the meeting.
Modi said during the meeting that India attaches high importance to its close and friendly relations with the Kingdom, and expressed confidence that his visit to Riyadh will provide an opportunity to further enhance the strategic partnership.
Al-Jubeir said that relations with India are accorded a high priority in the foreign policy of Saudi Arabia.
He appreciated the constructive role being played by the rich Indian diaspora toward the overall development of the Kingdom.
Al-Jubeir reached New Delhi on Monday for a two-day visit as part of the preparations for Modi’s visit to the Kingdom on April 2.
“Al-Jubeir was on his first official visit to New Delhi, at the invitation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, to discuss the entire gamut of bilateral relations, besides regional and international issues of mutual interest,” the Indian Embassy said.
Later on Tuesday, Al-Jubeir met with Bangladeshi Premier Sheikh Hasina Wajed in Dhaka.
