Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem received a written message from Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, conveyed by Chinese Foreign Minister’s envoy Li Huaxin, pertaining to ties of friendship between the two countries and China’s six-point vision on finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria. According to Syrian News Agency (Sana) Al-Moallem expressed Syria’s appreciation of China’s firm stance at international gatherings and Syria’s welcome of the Chinese vision and readiness to cooperate positively with it being the way to find a solution based on ending violence from any side, facilitating the efforts of the UN in the humanitarian field, cooperating with the UN Secretary General envoy, calling on all sides for a comprehensive national dialogue and speeding up the reform process in Syria. For his part, the Chinese Foreign Minister’s envoy Li Huaxin affirmed his country’s rejection of any foreign interference in the Syrian affairs, adding that only the Syrian people can find a solution to the crisis. Li Huaxin expressed China’s rejection of the attempts to exploit the humanitarian situation to interfere in Syria’s internal affairs under any pretext and stressed China’s adherence to respecting the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria and the goals of the UN Charter.
