Elegant and sophiticated Beirut - Arabstoday   Hollywood’s 1940’s coquettish stars Joan Crawford, Ava Gardner and Lauren Bacall with all their glamour and sophistication paraded the design stage and colour palettes of Effa’s recent AW 11/12 collection. Playing on the contrast of using different key jewel colours like Emerald Green, Saphire blue, Ruby red, Garnet, amethyst, and citrine Yellow. Black and white is also a strong feature, as well as a strong influence of Gold in the collection. The material of fabrics used were plain silks and satins, laces, pleated skirts and printed Italian silks, florals and abstract prints with a selection of luxurious velvet pleated details. Some of the pieces were adorned with stone embellishments and handmade intricate details along a mixture of semi precious stones.
