
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba)’s continuing commitment to expand learning opportunities for its employees and strengthen their knowledge base was given a boost with the launch of the MBA 2014 Programme on Thursday, September 26, 2013. As part of the programme, Alba’s Training & Recruitment Department will be organising information sessions for employees by inviting guest speakers from renowned universities around the world. These sessions will be for employees who will be sponsored by Alba to pursue their MBA in 2014. It will give them the chance to learn about primary requirements for getting an MBA degree as well as the salient features of the programme, application procedures and timelines in respective universities. The very first information session in the MBA 2014 Programme was conducted by Kim Killingsworth, the Director of International Recruiting and Relations, Owen Graduate School of Management from the Vanderbilt University, USA. The second information session was held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 and was conducted by Amanda Barth, Director of MBA Admissions, College of William & Mary, Mason School of Business, USA. Both Ms. Killingsworth and Ms. Barth met with potential candidates and department officials to discuss the features of the MBA Programme, and shared how it will benefit the employees in their career growth. Commenting on the launch of the MBA 2014 Programme, the Manager for Training & Recruitment, Rawdha Salman Alaradi said: \"Alba recognises that a strong learning culture provides the groundwork for developing a knowledgeable and productive workforce that’s committed towards delivering results. The 2014 MBA Programme has been conceived with this very goal, and we will be organising many more visits from other leading universities for the benefit of our employees.\" The final list of candidates selected for the 2014 MBA Programme will be done only after a detailed scrutiny and structured selection process.
