Apple is opening up its new OS X Beta Seed Program to all Mac users come Tuesday, giving them a sneak peek at any of the company's new OS iterations. The program was earlier only available to Apple developers, who would pay $99 to have early access to the lasts OS release. The program will give users an opportunity to test drive new software being released. Apple users need only their Apple ID to participate and will have to abide by a strict confidentiality clause associated with the beta testing period. Apple hasn't announced when it will launch OS X 10.9.3 as a general update for Mac users, who are currently using version 10.9.2 or Build 13C64. Users who download the update will be required to provide feedback via dialog boxes and prompts. The OS X Beta Seed Program will be different from the Mac Developer Program, which provides additional tools for developers to use. The FAQ section of the program says that participants will not be compensated for their work and lists strict guidelines for how to use the 10.9.3 download for those choosing to register. "[T]he pre-release software is Apple confidential information. For example, don't install the pre-release Apple software on any systems you don't directly control or that you share with others, don't blog, post screen shots, tweet, or publicly post information about the pre-release Apple software, and don't discuss the pre-release Apple software with or demonstrate it to others who are not in the OS X Beta Seed Program," the FAQ explains. Interested users can visit the OS X Beta Seed Program landing page, register and download the update, making them unofficial beta testers for Apple.
