
The Sultanate of Oman has signed an agreement with Frontier Resources of Oman LTD company - granting the British oil firm the right to explore oil and gas in the franchise area No.: 38 with a total space of 17425 square kilometers in Zafar province. The agreement obliges the company to implement 3D seismic surveying, geo-physical and geological studies and to drill a number of exploratory wells without incurring the government any financial costs throughout the exploration durations. The Undersecretary of the Sultanate of Oman\'s Ministry of Oil and Gas, Nasser bin Khamees Al-Jashmi, stated that company shall implement the job initially for three years including seismic surveying, provision of data and possibly the digging of one well.
