
The Chinese telecommunication company Huawei has launched a data center in Cote d\'Ivoire\'s southern town of Grand-Bassam. According to Huawei\'s representative in Cote d\'Ivoire, Ni Zheng, the project launched on Friday is funded by the Chinese firm at a cost of 30 million U.S. dollars. The project will help the government ministries in terms of the information and communication technologies (ICT). Crucial government information will be stored at the center dubbed Cote d\'Ivoire\'s e-government project, Several parts of the capital will be connected to the fiber optic cable to allow rapid exchange of data on Internet. Cote d\'Ivoire\'s ICT Minister Andre Apete hailed the unveiling of the project which he termed as very important for the government. The project will have a \"call center\" for all players this month in case of any disruptions of service. It is connected to 52 websites of Cote d\'Ivoire ministries and will help the government to properly manage the number of its employees.
