
The Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) signed here on Wednesday a contract with an international company specializing in the manufacture of navigation systems for the implementation of an automated landing system at Kuwait International Airport. The DGCI said in a statement that the contract signed with the Canadian 'Intelkan Technosystems Inc.' includes the design, supply, installation, operation and maintenance of services and navigational systems for air traffic and supply of the latest aircraft landing systems. It added that the contract also includes the supply of the latest devices to measure the distance, thus, improving the capacity, safety and accuracy of overflight and landing of aircraft in the Kuwaiti airspace to the runways according to the standards and requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization. The statement said that the project will provide training services for Kuwaiti cadres working at the DGCI in order to enable engineers work on the operation and maintenance. The contract will be completed in two and a half years.
