The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Dolan Northwest ceiling-mounted light fixtures due to safety concerns. The ceiling fixtures were imported from China by Dolan Northwest, which does business as Seattle Lighting, Globe Lighting, Builders Lighting and Destination Lighting, the CPSC said. About 8,000 ceiling lights are involved in the recall, which was prompted by reports of defective fixtures that caused circuit breakers to trip. The recall involves round, satin nickel or bronze-colored fixtures with opaque, alabaster glass shades. The fixtures are 14 inches in diameter and 5.5 inches high. They are designed for 75-watt bulbs and were sold as Design Classics Model 562-09 and 562-30. They were sold nationwide for about $32 between September 2008 and September 2009. Consumers were advised to stop using the light fixtures and return them to the place of purchase for a free replacement fixture and a $50 voucher. Consumers can call 888-213-5758 for information.
