Dolphin Energy has termed as a “milestone achievement” its bronze award in the Joint Ventures Category, at the ‘Qatar Oil and Gas Industry Safety Excellence and Innovation Awards 2011’. Dolphin Energy Qatar general manager Adel Ahmed Albuainain said: “We are very proud to receive this award because it represents another milestone in our long term commitment to safety performance. “From our inception, we were determined to uphold the highest levels of safety across every facet of our operation and ranked QHSE excellence with other primary business objectives. We have been proactive in embracing this commitment and have created policies, programmes and initiatives such as the Annual HSE Contractors Meeting that have helped to develop safety standards for the local and regional oil and gas sector. “Winning this award could not have been possible without a lot of hard work and dedication from every single employee at Dolphin Energy along with our partners and contractors. I would like to congratulate them all.” The award recognises Dolphin Energy as a leading operating company in the Qatar Oil and Gas industry that was able to successfully demonstrate sustainable performance and innovation across a range of evaluation criteria – performance enhancement, transferability, reputation and innovation. Organised by Qatar Petroleum (QP) to promote a culture of safety among QP joint venture companies, contractors and other players in the local oil and gas industry, the awards were presented to those companies that demonstrated improvements in behaviour, procedures, design, plant operations, safety standards and overall risk reduction. Albuainain receive the award from HE the Minister of Energy & Industry Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada at an event held at the Ritz-Carlton.
