Emirates Post Group
Dubai - WAM

Emirates Post Group has revised the rates of some of its services, including an increase in annual subscription fees for individual P.O. Boxes and a reduction in rates of parcels, as part of a strategy to improve services, offer value addition to customers and offset inflation.
Announcing the revision in rates, Ibrahim Bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates Post Group, said, "The revision in rates was necessitated by the many improvements made to the services and also to cope with increased operating costs." Under the revised plan, the annual subscription of an individual P.O. Box has been increased from Dh 200 to Dh 250, with bundled value-addition of the ‘e-Shaar' SMS notification service whenever there is incoming bar-coded mail and online access to the P.O. Box to enable the customer to view scanned images of received mail.
The new improvements to the P.O. Box service are part of EPG's strategy to be in line with the Smart Government initiative, and provide services to the public round the clock and enable them to access their P.O. Box without visiting the post office.
As far as parcels are concerned, Mr. Bin Karam said that during 2014 there has been a 20 % increase in parcels sent via Emirates Post offices and 25% in Express Mail. Emirates Post Group had reduced the parcel rates to destinations in the Indian sub-continent by 20% as from May 1, 2014; Dhs8 per kilogram for the surface (SAL) Parcel Service and Dhs13 per kilogram for the Air Parcel Service. There are no weight restrictions.
Customers are charged on a per-kilo basis. Emirates Post also runs a speedy EMS (Express Mail Service) to India, which charges Dhs75 for the first half kilo, with delivery within 3 days.
Emirates Post Group had also reduced its parcel rates to all destinations in Europe, and accelerated transit times through a strategic agreement with Emirates airline. In addition, the speedy EMS service to Europe, which charges Dh 100 for the first half kilo, assures delivery within 3 days. This service is ideal for urgent documents and far cheaper than most courier companies.
The parcel rates to all destinations in the Philippines have been reduced to Dhs8 per kilo for the surface (SAL) Parcel Service and Dhs13 per kilo for its Air Parcel Service. There are no weight restrictions. Customers will be charged on a per-kilo basis, irrespective of the total weight. The EMS Service to the Philippines charges Dhs62.00 for the first half kilo, with delivery within 3 days.
Emirates Post Group's post offices are equipped with all facilities to meet the needs of individual and corporate customers. Customers can select special boxes of various sizes to pack their products and items at nominal prices to ensure safety of their parcels
