Major French telephone operator "Orange" - formerly France Telecom - said in a statement on Wednesday that private data belonging to 1.3 million customers had been stolen from its system. The theft took place on April 18 and is the second in several months. The data includes mobile phone numbers, dates of birth, e-mail addresses, and in some cases home telephone numbers. Three months ago, a similar theft took place affecting around 800,000 customers' data. The telephone operator said that all those concerned by the April theft had been informed about the incident, Orange said. (end) jk.sd
