General Motors on Wednesday announced a new round of recalls affecting 823,000 vehicles worldwide with a range of safety issues.
The problems include an improperly attached seat, unreliable turn signals and issues with the power steering in some models. GM reported two accidents with three injuries related to the problems.
The recall affects newer models, including the Chevrolet Spark, the Chevrolet Impala and the Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck, dpa reported.
"These recalls signify how we've enhanced our approach to safety," said Jeff Boyer, GM's vice president who oversees global vehicle safety. "We are bringing greater rigor and discipline to our analysis and decision making. If we identify an issue - large or small - that might affect the safety of our customers, we will act decisively."
The latest recalls bring the total number to 60 since the beginning of the year covering some 28.8 million vehicles. GM Chief Executive Mary Barra has been forced to appear before Congress to answer for problems with faulty ignition switches that dated back years and resulted in deaths before the company issued recalls.
GM is to release its earnings Thursday.
