
The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) has tendered planned projects, worth USD 700 million, at "Invest in Bahrain 2014" Forum.
Interviewed by KUNA on Thursday, on the forum sidelines, the GOIC Secretary General Abdul Aziz Alaqeel said the tendered projects are designed to produce ferric chloride, chlorine dioxide (powder), sodium hypochlorite and fiber microfiltration membranes.
These projects, expected to be launched in Bahrain, would create new jobs and contribute to diversifying the local industrial sector, Alaqeel told the Kuwaiti news agency.
The organization has carried out studies in the kingdom over the past years, he said, indicating one of the studies aimed examining the plastic and fiber glass sector and another on water desalination, Elaborating, he said the GCC countries need to expand the medical industries, due to high demand and prospected proceeds.
The GOIC, headquartered in Qatar, was established by the GCC states in 1976.
