
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Industrial and Oil Affairs and Board Chairman of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa received the company’s President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery who presented him with Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Award for Bahraini Women Empowerment which was granted to the company at a celebration held recently at the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) headquarters.
Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and SCW President, patronised the ceremony during which GPIC was honoured for the second time.
The GPIC Board Chairman hailed the role of the award in supporting policies aimed at further empowering women and engaging them in the development process and decision-making.
He praise the key role played by the company’s executive management, led by Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, in achieving set up goals and clinching the award in its fourth edition.
Shaikh Isa thanked HRH Princess Sabeeka for recognising the company, commending high cooperation between GPIC and SCW.
On his part, Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery expressed happiness about the company’s winning of the award for the second time, pointing out that GPIC also grabbed it in its second edition in 2008. He praised the company’s wise policy spearheaded by Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa which gives the empowerment of Bahraini women top priority.
Shaikh Isa met the company’s female staff and congratulated them on the prestigious award during a visit he paid to the company complex to inspect work in the factories there.
