The Gulf Petrochemical Industrial Company (GPIC)
Manama - BNA

The Gulf Petrochemical Industrial Company (GPIC)'s Urea Plant announced that it has produced 10,000,000 metric tonnes of urea since operations began in 1998.
The Company hosted a special ceremony marking this occasion at its industrial complex attended by the GPIC's President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, executive board members, GPIC's Labour Union's Chairman and Deputy Chairman as well as senior corporate officials.
Speaking at the ceremony, GPIC's President said this was yet another addition to the Company’s already exemplary track record.
Dr. Jawahery said the achievement was possible, thanks to the concerted efforts of the workers and officials as well as everybody connected with the functioning of the plant. "This is testimony also to the professionalism and dedication of the employees, the balanced strategy set up by the Board of Directors as well as the blessings of the leadership."
He said all these factors had enabled the GPIC to walk confidently on the path of progress, success and achievement.
He also said the overall high level of professionalism displayed by the members of the Executive Management and all employees of the Company and the one-family spirit of cooperation had been instrumental in achieving several successes. "Everyone has worked long hours in challenging conditions, have battled high temperatures and humidity and given it their best shot to ensure the Company operations remained competitive in the global market."
He said efforts of the staff had enabled the Company to overcome all difficulties and that contributed to the Urea plant achieving this high standard. "The Management will continue to provide all necessary facilities and incentives so as to enable the GPIC to achieve more records, while conforming to the high standards of occupational safety."
GPIC's President said all of the Company’s products are subject to global quality systems’, including those in the field of environment, occupational safety and health. "This is the reason why we have achieved, and continue to achieve, the highest honours and awards. We are also very proud of the quality of training we provide to our workforce, both within and outside the GPIC, which contributes to their professionalism and efficiency."
He said the Company is looking forward to another year of responsibilities, important tasks and challenges, which required everyone to make more efforts. "This is important for us to maintain our leading position in global markets and maintain the competitive edge we are known for."
