
Jazeera Airways, the Kuwaiti leading private low-fare airline, has posted a major surge in its flight passengers in March, 2014. In its operational performance for March, released Sunday, the company said that it has seen an increase in the number of flown passengers in the Oman, Jeddah, and Bahrain route, with an on-time performance of 96 percent. It also grabbed a 41 percent of market share in the Kuwait-Oman route, while the Jeddah route recorded 13 percent compared to the same time period last year. Jazeera has services for six cities in Egypt including Luxor with 69 percent of market share, and a market share of 24 percent on the Kuwait-Cairo route, and 18 percent on the Kuwait-Alexandria route, 34 percent on the Kuwait-Assiut route, 40 percent on Kuwait-Sohag, and seven percent on the seasonal destination of Sharm El Sheikh. The report showed that Jazeera grabbed a 13 percent of market share on the Kuwait-Dubai route, a 9 percent on the Kuwait-Riyadh route, and was the leading airline serving the Kuwait-Al Najaf route with a 40 percent of market share. Moreover, the company grabbed 28 percent of market share in the route serving Beirut, six percent on the Kuwait Istanbul route, and a 21 percent on the Kuwait, Mashhad route. Jazeera Airways was established in 2005 and is enlisted in the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE). The company, which is the largest airline serving the Middle East out of Kuwait, owns a fleet of 14 airplanes of Airbus A320
