Kuwait Oil Co., eager to train some employees to assume leadership roles in the company, is holding the sixth Middle East Leadership Academy (MELA) program for 2015 in conjunction with its partners, said CEO of the company Hashim S. Hashim in a press statement on Thursday.
MELA is an annual leadership program that is a ten day intensive experiential course of instruction involving, among other things workshops. It offers an interactive learning environment, focusing on practical and instantaneous lessons. Participants will engage with internationally recognized business innovators, instructors, and public figures, he said.
In its edition this year MELA will tackle such topics as the passion to improve oneself, the importance of integrity in the workplace, open-mindedness to new possibilities, grace under pressure, and belief in oneself. There are learning group sessions each day at the leadership academy and all participants have to solve issues and get to know one another, he said.
Forty participants from eight Arab countries, including ten from Kuwait, are taking part in the ten-day training program.
