
Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) will officially sponsor the Third Kuwait Oil and Gas Summit and Exhibition 2014, to be held on April 14-15 under the auspices of Oil Minister and Chairman of KPC's Board of Directors Dr. Ali Al-Omair, announced the corporation. The summit, entitled (Kuwait's future in world energy), will witness an active participation by the corporation, Managing Director of the KPC for Corporate Relations and Information Technology Ali Al-Obaid said in a statement on Thursday. A large number of the KPC officials, led by CEO Nizar Al-Adsani, will be presenting work papers at the summit on the progress of the Kuwaiti oil industry, aspects of growth and development, as well as future plans. Al-Obaid added that among the participants at the summit are Kuwait Oil Co. (KOC) CEO Hashem Hashem, Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) CEO Sheikh Nawaf Saud Nasser Al-Sabah and Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) CEO Bakheet Al-Rashidi. The summit will also include work papers presented by Kuwait Energy CEO Sara Akbar, Vice President of the Board of Directors at Shell Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Syria Andrew Vaughan, EQUATE CEO Mohammad Hussain and Seven Sisters Company CEO Ahmad Al-Arbeed. At the summit, the speakers will review new ideas and approaches on the oil and gas industry in Kuwait, which will focus on presentations and discussions of planning and implementing key projects, facing possible challenges, as well as discussing the importance of the energy sector for the national economy, he added. The Kuwaiti oil sector is witnessing a new growth and prosperity phase, especially in taking the oil industry of Kuwait forward through the implementation of major strategic projects, in addition to ensuring the country's leading role in the future of world energy, Al-Obaid concluded.
