McDonald’s asks court to order reopening of 3 restaurants in Moscow

McDonald’s has filed petitions with Moscow courts asking for permission to reopen three of its restaurants closed in the city in late August.
On August 20, Russia’s consumer watchdog Rospotrebnadzor filed administrative lawsuits against four McDonald’s restaurants in Moscow. Snap inspections on August 18-20 revealed numerous violations of sanitary regulations, the agency said.
“We sent our petitions to courts, asking them to cancel administrative decisions suspending the work of McDonald’s restaurants. The law allows us to do this if the violations registered by Rospotrebnadzor have been remedied,” Maxim Titarenko, a lawyer representing the interests of the company, told ITAR-TASS.
He said “all violations registered by Rospotrebnadzor have been remedied”.
There are about 430 McDonald’s restaurants in Russia.
