McDonald's is planning to open about 40 new restaurants in 6 cities of Russia's Siberia, TASS was told by the press-service of the company.
The press-service noted that despite the claims made by Russia's consumer watchdog, McDonald’s is about to develop the restaurant chain in Siberia. It plans to open new outlets in Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Omsk, Barnaul, Novokuznetsk and Kemerovo.
McDonald’s opened its two first restaurants in Novosibirsk, Siberia, in the summer of 2014. Moreover, one restaurant was opened in Omsk.
In the summer of 2014 Russia's consumer watchdog Rospotrebnadzor started inspections of the restaurant chain throughout Russia. According to the company’s data, Rospotrebnadzor conducted more than 200 inspections. The work of 9 restaurants has been suspended. Earlier the Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said that these inspections would not create great obstacles for the McDonald’s development.
