
Qatar\'s premier Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) shipping company Nakilat on Sunday announced the name of the winner of an online competition held for local students recently. Mohammed Al Haddad, a recent Carnegie Mellon University Qatar graduate, was selected as the winner of a 13\' Macbook Pro laptop, Nakilat said today in a media statement. The competition was held from April 1 to 12th last month and was hosted on Nakilat\'s website. Candidates were invited to enter the competition by answering questions about Nakilat\'s LNG Fleet and the Erhama bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard in Ras Laffan. The competition was held as part of Nakilat\'s ongoing Qatarization efforts and to interact with young Qataris. Nakilat Human Resources Manager Margaret Al Kuwari said, \"Highlighting employment opportunities associated with Nakilat\'s renowned LNG Fleet and creating awareness about its joint venture partners Nakilat - Keppel Offshore and Marine Limited (N-KOM) and Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar (NDSQ) is key to our recruitment efforts in hiring young Qataris.\" A core element in Nakilat\'s corporate social responsibility initiatives is interacting with the local community and building awareness amongst young Nationals. Nakilat and its joint venture partners NDSQ and N-KOM target the training and development of Qatari youth. It gives high priority to attract Qatari nationals into the many careers associated with the country\'s fast advancing marine industrial sector, the company added.
