Nissan has recalled around 990,000 vehicles in the United States due to software issues that could lead to the failure of passenger airbags, the Japanese company said Wednesday according to dpa.Because of faulty calibration of the car's software, adult passengers in the passenger seat may not be registered by the vehicle, which cancause airbags to stay deactivated during a crash. The problem, which may affect 2013 and 2014 models including the Nissan Altima, Pathfinder, Sentra and the luxury brand Infiniti, can be fixed through a software update.
