
Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Kun- hee maintained a position as South Korea\'s richest man with assets of around 13 trillion won (11 billion U.S. dollars), a local information provider said Monday. Lee\'s assets were valued at 12.83 trillion won as of May, including listed shares such as Samsung Electronics and non-listed stocks as well as real estate across the country, according to data by corporate information provider Chaebol.com. Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Mong-koo ranked second with his assets worth 6.82 trillion won, followed by Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong with 3.86 trillion won. Combined assets from five Samsung family members, including Lee \' s wife Hong Ra-hee, and the chairman\'s only son Jae-yong, topped 20 trillion won, according to the data. Chung Eui-sun, Hyundai Motor vice chairman and son of Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung, ranked fourth with assets worth 3.48 trillion won. It was trailed by Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin with 2.39 trillion won.
