German Siemens considers buying assets of Russian transport and industrial companies, President of Siemens Russia and Central Asia Dietrich Moeller said at the Petersburg International Economic Forum on Thursday. “We have been investing on the Russian territory quite successfully of late, and further development of business on all directions - infrastructure, transport, medical equipment and industry, can be of course expected in the future,” Moeller said. According to him, several options are considered at the moment - “a new own plant of Siemens or joint partnership, as well as the purchase of assets or minority participation”. He also said Siemens has technical possibilities for localizing production of high-speed Sapsan trains in Russia’s Sverdlovsk region if the order volume will be sufficient.
