SK hynix Inc., the world\'s No. 2 computer memory chip maker, said Sunday it has partially resumed operations at its fire-hit factory in China. A fire broke out at the chipmaker\'s plant in the eastern Chinese city of Wuxi on Wednesday, suspending its operations. No casualties were reported. SK hynix said that following a safety check, one production line that was not damaged by the blaze went on line Saturday. In collaboration with Chinese authorities, company engineers started checking facilities and repairing damaged production lines, the company said, adding it plans to resume full operations as soon as possible. \"We will make efforts to minimize a bottleneck in the supply of DRAMs by shipping finished products and receiving support from the main plant in South Korea,\" the company said. SK hynix, which was taken over last year by South Korea\'s energy and telecom conglomerate SK Group, competes with Samsung Electronics Co. and Toshiba Corp. SK hynix reportedly supplies mobile chips to Apple Inc. as well as to other companies.
