
The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) continued inching its way higher to end yesterday’s trading in the green at 6,882.12 points, up 42.29 points or 0.62 percent. The index went 53 points up from the level of opening bell yesterday. All market cap indices ended the day in the safe area. Fourteen out of Tadawul's 15 sectors moved upward, showing a collection of 571.6 points. Only Media and Publishing sector closed a little lower from previous day's level, declining by 0.15 percent. Transport sector outperformed, up 1.56 percent to close the day at 4,514.64 points. It also reflected a year-to-date change (+56.6 percent), which is highest among all Saudi sectors. There were 94 net advancing issues, a largely strong market breadth. Most of heavyweights marched higher from previous levels, with Samba Financial Group, Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) and Saudi Telecom playing well relatively, advancing more than one percent for the day. Share price of Enaya Insurance rallied to a maximum growth of 10 percent to SR 52.25, clinching the spot as top gainer among Saudi stocks. On the negative side, Gulf General Insurance switched its position from top gainer of previous couple of days to the biggest loser of the day, down 5.83 percent to close at SR 72.75. The company also came out as the most active stock on value basis, contributing a liquidity of SR 560.5 million for the entire day.
