Manama - BNA

Head of Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce and Handicrafts, Widad Bouchammaoui, praised the deep-rooted relations between Bahrain and Tunisia in all fields, expressing desire to consolidate economic, trade and investment cooperation. She told Bahrain News Agency (BNA), on the sidelines of the economic delegation visit to Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), that the visit aims to discuss enhancing economic and cooperation relations between the Bahraini private sector and its Tunisian counterpart. Bouchammaoui stressed the need to establish strategic partnership between Tunisia and Bahrain to increase future trade exchange and joint investments, calling for overcoming obstacles facing Bahrain-Tunisian joint investment projects and starting direct air and sea routes between the two countries. She added that the Tunisian delegation's visit led by Tunisian Premier, Mahdi Jomaa, comes as part of delegation's tour in the Gulf to attract investments to Tunisia where stability is witnessed. She underscored the Tunisian geographical location and its touristic nature that attract more than seven millions of tourists annually and more than 3000 foreign investment companies and institutions are operating there. She noted that Tunisia will host Gulf and Arab Investors Forum in next May and Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) meeting from 31 March- 4 April 2014.
