Guinea, Morocco sign 21 cooperation agreements

Guinean and Moroccan authorities have signed 21 cooperation agreements in the socioeconomic investment sectors, according to an official source. The agreements were signed in Conakry during the official visit to Guinea by Morocco's King Mohammed VI, who arrived here on Monday. The collaboration and partnership agreements were targeting key economic sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, housing, trade, education, banking, youth training as well as development of the private sector. Accompanied by a strong delegation of about 500 government officials and economic operators, King Mohammed VI used his visit to Guinea to launch the construction of several social infrastructure projects. Guinea and Morocco have had solid ties in the health sector, especially university training of medical students, for the last 50 years. Each year, Guinean students are sent to Morocco for training and thousands of Guineans suffering from critical diseases are flown to Morocco for medical treatment. The Moroccan King is in Guinea for a three-day visit before heading to Gabon on Wednesday.
