Heavy sales reported at the opening day of Dubai’s most anticipated luxurious high-end shopping extravaganza that began at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday. Managing Director and Founder of Concept Group, Vijay Samyani said that being a weekday he did not expect such an overwhelming turnout for day one. I expect to see an increase in growth at 10 per cent this year, he added. The shopping extravaganza titled ‘The Concept Big Brands Carnival 2012’ will run for four days and has been organised by the Dubai based Concept Group. Samyani said that mega discounts of up to 75 per cent is being offered. Most of the items at the pavilion were being sold off at throw-away prices as consumers flocked the venue to pick the best in luxury brand. Asked how he can manage to drop the prices so low in some of the designer and branded products Samyani said that they have enough stock and wants consumers to benefit from discounted offers thus bridging the gap between the customers and the brands. Besides Concept group’s products there are also other products sourced from leading distributors in the region.
