Commerce and Industry Minister Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah said yesterday that the government would provide all possible incentives to boost investment in the industrial sector. Speaking to reporters after opening a number of projects at the Industrial City in Alkharj, he said: “Our industrial cities are attracting major industries.” Al-Rabiah, who is chairman of the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (Modon), visited a number of factories in the city. Saleh Al-Rashid, acting director general of Modon, disclosed plans to establish a new industrial city in Dharma. “The new industrial cities in various parts of the country are attracting a large number of investors,” Al-Rashid said. He emphasized the industrial cities’ role in strengthening the Kingdom’s economy and creating more jobs for Saudis. Located about 70 kms away from Riyadh, the Industrial City in Alkharj has 224 factories. Among them 84 have started production. The government has invested SR 522 million on the city’s infrastructure projects.v From : Arabnews
