
Bilateral trade between Oman and China reached US$23 billion in 2013, with around US$20 billion of the total trade coming from the oil and gas sector, while other products contributed around US$3 billion, according to Chinese officials.Speaking at a seminar held at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) on the upcoming China Import and Export Fair, the Ambassador of China, said, “The Oman-China trade relations have been steadily progressing in the last few years, due to the open policy followed by both countries.”The China Import and Export Fair, widely known as the Canton Fair, is held in Guangzhou, China, twice every year in spring and autumn. At the seminar, Wang Runsheng, president of the China Foreign Trade Centre (Group), said that the two-way trade between China and Oman hit a historic high in 2013, with Oman becoming China’s fourth largest trade partner in the West Asia and North Africa region.
